About The Events
This gathering is in partnership with HIAS—a global Jewish nonprofit that protects refugees whose lives are in danger for being who they are. Founded in 1881 to assist Jews fleeing pogroms in Eastern Europe, HIAS now serves people of all faiths and backgrounds, offering legal protection, humanitarian aid, resettlement support, and advocacy in more than 20 countries around the world.
As part of the Jewish community, Congregation Kol Ami is proud to be part of the HIAS Welcome Campaign, joining over 600 synagogues and communities across the country that have pledged to support refugees and asylum seekers. Our commitment is rooted in Torah values and our own histories as immigrants. Many of us would not be here today without the efforts of organizations like HIAS.
