September 2: Elul: Spiritual Preparation for the High Holidays
During Elul, we will explore the wisdom of Mussar, Kabbalah, and Hasidut as spiritual resources for preparing ourselves for the new year of 5787.
Mussar offers practical disciplines for refining our character traits and becoming more patient, generous, courageous, and compassionate.
Kabbalah invites us to recognize the sacred dimension within ourselves, other people, and the world around us.
Hasidut teaches us to approach Jewish life with greater joy, intention, humility, and awareness of God’s presence in ordinary moments.
Together, these traditions can help us slow down, examine our lives honestly, and enter the High Holidays with greater clarity and purpose. They offer ancient wisdom for modern challenges—including anxiety, distraction, strained relationships, moral uncertainty, and the desire to live more intentionally.
