Congregation Kol Ami offers youth from pre-school through high school an opportunity to explore the depths and beauty of our tradition and the Hebrew language. Our mission is to sow the seeds of a lifetime dedication to Torah and Mitzvot. We promote a commitment to Zionism and the State of Israel, a love of the Hebrew language, and the responsibility to be an integral part of the Jewish and secular communities in which we live. Our curriculum provides an integrated Judaica / Hebrew program built on inventive, stimulating and concrete activities.

We offer classes for grades Pre-Kindergarten (age 4) through 7th grade(B’nai Mitzvah), Sundays at Kol Ami from 3:15pm-5:30pm, taught by experienced Judaica teachers. Each Sunday school session also includes a Tefillah (prayer) session led by Rabbi Glickman.

Kitah Gan (Pre-K and Kindergarten) focuses on experiential activities involving crafts, movement, music, and storytelling to engage students in learning basic Jewish symbols, celebrations and Jewish values.

Kitah Aleph through Kitah Daled (1-4 grades) begin an integrated curriculum that introduces Hebrew reading for prayer. The Judaica portion of the curriculum is built on three pillars of Judaism: Torah, Avodah (worship), and G’milut Chasidim (acts of loving-kindness). The idea that we are a holy people, created in God’s image, is stressed at this level. The study of Torah and acts of loving-kindness are ways in which we learn of our partnership with God. We also focus on our holy days and an introduction to Jewish history.

Kitah Hey and Kitah Vav (Grades 5-6) continue studying Hebrew for prayer and the ability to understand the key Jewish prayers and learning about the history of past Torah studies, Holocaust and modern Israel. Fifth and Sixth graders also meet on Tuesday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm for additional Hebrew studies.

Kitah Zion (7th Grade) master Hebrew for prayer in preparation for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah. The Jewish life cycle and understanding Reform Judaism are also studied. These B’nai Mitzvah students study with Rabbi Glickman on Tuesday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. Students also meet individually with the Rabbi.

Family Education programs are offered throughout the year and focus on timely themes.

Post B’nai Mitzvah students are encouraged to continue their studies through mini-courses offered Tuesday from 5:30pm – 6:30pm and at the Jewish Federation’s Community Hebrew High school. We encourage teens to remain involved in the religious school by serving as Madrichim (Teacher Aides).

Also, Congregation Kol Ami is a member of NFTY (National Federation of Temple Youth). KATY is our local group for 8th-12 graders. KOLBO is a group for 8th graders. Both offer extra-curricular programming, including special events, daytrips, and weekend overnights.
